WHO WE ARE
GREEN HOPE PROJECT is a non-profit that began in 2019. It was born out of the desire to continue with, and improve upon, what It's Your World Project began. It’s Your World Project is a high school art / environmental group. It is based out of El Dorado High School in Socorro ISD.
Our focuses include environmentalism, the arts, and education. We believe that we can make a positive change by uniting in our efforts, identifying the problems, and not stopping until we come up with the solutions.
HOW WE GOT STARTED
In 2015, Barnes & Noble announced a national contest, in partnership with Penguin Random House and Chelsea Clinton, that encouraged educators from Pre-K-12th grade to propose a community service project that would improve the city. As a result, high school art teacher Candace Printz entered and won this competition, leading to the It’s Your World Project. Today, It's Your World Project still keeps its core principles and strives to expand in order to spread compassion, creativity, and consideration for the environment. In January of 2019, Candace brought together several people that have shown interest in the cause. Darlene Aguirre, Veronica Carbajal, Cry Sosa & Zulema Macias joined in her efforts. Together they established Green Hope Project.
